The Director Sales & Marketing is a leadership sales position responsible for developing and maintaining a team of sales, sales support and marketing professionals focused on driving PSEG Energy Solutions rapid growth as a retail energy provider serving the commercial and industrial market segments. The responsibilities also include leading the geographic expansion, and maximization of operating margins. Key success factors include margin contribution, growth among new customer segments, and growth in new markets. The Position reports to the Managing Director Retail Energy.

Responsibilities:

Lead a team of sales professionals developing new and managing existing relationships with customers and channel sales partners including aggregators, brokers and consultants focused on selling PSEG Energy Solutions products to commercial and industrial customers.

Manage the development and implementation of the marketing strategy providing the sales team with tools and materials to meet the commercial objectives of the business.

Develop relationships with key direct customers and key channel partners and closely monitor sales channel performance to identify and improve channel effectiveness and efficiency.

Work with senior management to develop sales plans and produce timely reporting of results and variations to plan.

Required Skills, Competencies, Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing or related discipline.

• 10 years of experience in energy sales or sales operations with a B2B or B2C company

• 7 years of experience in a direct or indirect sales role within the deregulated retail energy industry targeting the commercial and industrial market segment focuses on the PJM/NE/NY electric markets including understanding of pricing, product benefits, marketing analysis and regulatory requirements.

• 5 years of experience managing sales professionals

• Experience in working with management developing and sales plans and reporting associated key metrics.

• Strong drive to sell and motivated by performance

• Strong Customer Focus

• Strong coaching and motivation skills

• Demonstrated ability to function effectively in teams and with other internal and external stakeholders.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills enabling the candidate to objectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders including brokers, customers, sales support, and operations.

• Problem-solving skills, results-oriented, creative and innovative, a team player, leadership and sound decision making abilities.
