Qualifications: The Information Technology Department at Con Edison is seeking a dedicated technology professional who is highly motivated, resourceful and committed to exemplary customer service. The successful candidate must have strong analytical, oral and written communication skills. Candidates must be able to interact with all levels of management working individually or within a team. Candidates must have a Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Math, Business, or applicable degree with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience; or a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Math, Business, or applicable degree with a minimum of 4 years relevant experience; or an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Math, Business, or applicable degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience; or Technical Certification in IT Technologies and a minimum of 7 years work experience in relevant field required; Associate Degree or B.S. preferred. Formal Project Management and/or Business Analysis skills a plus. Experience as a dedicated participant on a medium to large-scale systems development project is a plus. The applicant must also have a minimum of 3 years of experience with at least two (2) of the following technologies: o Structured Query Language (SQL), such as Oracle PL/SQL or Microsoft T-SQL o Object-oriented programming, such as Microsoft .NET (VB, C#) or Java o Web Development using HTML, JavaScript and ASP.NET/MVC o Oracle RDBMS development (11G, 12C) or SQL Server (2008 R2, 2014) development o Business Analysis o Project Management Strong skills and experience with the MS Office suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project required. Experience developing applications and/or databases. Experience implementing packaged software a plus. Must be able to plan, organize and lead meetings. Must be able to translate functional to technical information. Must be able to develop documentation that will be consumed by users of diverse backgrounds and skills. Flexibility to work on multiple assignments with changing priorities and stay on schedule/on budget.

Any experience with the following technologies and applications is also a plus,: Linux, Power Builder, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft BizTalk, any automated testing tools, Power Plant Project Management, Power Plant Cost Repository, Power Plant CWIP Accounting, Power Plant Unitization/Close, Power Plant Asset Management, Power Plant PowerTax, Power Plant Property Tax, Power Plant Depreciation Studies. Business experience in asset management and work management would also be a plus.

Responsibilities: The System Specialist is responsible for leading system development and vendor implementation efforts of low to moderate complexity, from project initiation through post implementation support. This role will initiate the efforts, lead internal IT and cross-functional teams as required, engage vendors and company stakeholders, and monitor and control all project activity throughout the project life-cycle. This individual will act as the liaison between product owners, architects, development team members, trainers, testers, and analysts to build and maintain enterprise-level software solutions. This individual will also be responsible for working on all aspects of new applications development as well as vendor systems implementations including Planning, Requirements Gathering, Business Analysis, Design, Development, Testing, Quality Assurance, Training, Implementation, and on-ongoing Technical Support. This individual will work on the on-going enhancement and technical support of the existing IT application portfolio in Business Systems Delivery. This individual will also work on day-to-day IT administrative tasks, problem solving, and issues resolution. Responsibilities also include: Analyze business requirements and present solution options to business needs. Create project plans, track budget and costs. Create design documents, deliver subsystems, develop project plans and business cases including value analysis. Develop, manage, and strengthen vendor relationships to align vendor products and services with business and IT objectives. Manage employees and contractors and provide regular development feedback. Manage incidents, perform remediation, root cause analysis, and incident prevention including Human Performance Improvement. Analyze, discover, and recommend opportunities for systems or process improvements. Prepare and conduct regular status updates on moderate sized projects and communicates effectively across multiple stakeholders. Manage change proactively.
