Con Edison System Analyst / 1H in New York, New York

Qualifications: O&R; Cost Management/Performance department is seeking to hire an Analyst to join its team.

This position requires candidates to demonstrate in the application they possess the following required skills and ability:

Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering or Information Systems preferred) with a minimum of 2 years of related work experience. OR Associate’s Degree or equivalent technical certification (Engineering or Information Systems) with a minimum of 4 years of related experience. OR High School Diploma/GED with 5 years related business experience.

  • Must display proficiency with PC systems operating in a client-server environment.

  • Should have knowledge of project budgeting, earned value analysis, scheduling, federal government grant administration, accounting and budgeting systems and asset management.

  • Fully proficient with Microsoft Office products including Microsoft Excel and Word with some knowledge of Visio and Project.

  • Must be well organized and detail oriented with the flexibility to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.

  • Must have excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the company, as well as customers and external vendors.

  • Must be able to work effectively on teams.

Responsibilities: Under general direction of the Section Manager, is responsible for developing, maintaining and supporting the WMS/Web WMS (Work Management System) used by Electric, Substation and Gas Operations for Orange & Rockland Utilities.

Ensures implementation of Company safety, health and environmental programs for employees whose work is directed. This includes the administration and maintenance of system tables, as well as the design and development of program modifications.

Meets with users to prepare requirements analyses for enhancements to WMS. With guidance, develops functional scope and designs for enhancements to WMS. Develops E-learning for WebWMS and provides training for WMS Users. Supports the ongoing operation for the WMS to ensure optimal performance.Develops an understanding of the logical workings and interfaces of the Company’s computer systems that serve and assist Operations in performing their job functions.Develops proficiency of the basic logic and scope of O&R;’s Work Management System (WMS,/Web/WMS).

Develops a detailed understanding of Electric, Substation and Gas Operations by utilizing the WMS/Web/WMS. Develops a good general knowledge of Electric, Substation and Gas Operations’ business practices. Assists in the development of new functionality within WMS/Web/WMS and with system interfaces. This involves developing screen layouts and system interactions, testing, and problem solving.Works with vendors to install packages and/or support the application environment.Participates in troubleshooting system problems and helps resolve them.Provides a clear and well organized documentation for all procedures developed and.r supported.Performs other related assignments as required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

  • Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed.

  • Must be able to participate in the Company’s emergency management processes and storm plans as required.
