Con Edison Sr Specialist / 2L in New York, New York

Qualifications: O&R; Customer Support Operations is seeking to hire a Sr. Specialist to join its team.

This position requires candidates to demonstrate in the application they possess the following required skills and ability:

Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of three years of related work experience or Associates degree with five years of related work experience.

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent is preferred.

  • Related work experience in a financial or accounting capacity with the ability to interpret complex and voluminous data.

  • Strong leadership and verbal and written communications skills are required.

  • Strong analytical, planning and problem solving abilities are also required.

  • Must be well organized, detail oriented, flexible to handle multiple assignments and able to meet deadlines.

  • Must be able to exercise independent judgment.

  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with people at all levels including customers and all levels of management.

  • Must have excellent, advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint is also required.

  • Working knowledge of regulatory processes such as preparation of rate proceedings, responding to commission orders and responses to interrogatories preferred.

  • Knowledge of the Company’s billing system, CIMS, is a plus.

  • Knowledge of electric and gas tariffs and rates is a plus.

Responsibilities: With limited guidance from the Director, Customer Assistance, the Senior Specialist will support the Customer Accounting department and act as liaison and subject matter expert for major initiatives such as Reforming the Energy Vision (REV), Value of Distributed Energy Resources (VDER), Community Distributed Generation (CDG), and for overall coordination of sub-projects and/or programs as it relates to the Customer Accounting billing functions. Will also be a major participant in the Bill Redesign initiative.

Serves as main point of contact for development of complex billing models for CDG projects. Responsible for developing analytics for bill validation and bill presentment as well as addressing future Commission ordered requirements. Main point of contact for Customer Assistance for external customer billing questions and escalations related to REV, VDER and CDG. Performs data analytics and ad hoc reporting pertaining to AMI. Acts as liaison for implementation of billing system changes such as REV, CDG and AMI. Develops a detailed understanding of large power billing systems. Coordinates and maintains inter/intra departmental communication associated with the development of distributed generation projects to ensure conformance with associated rates and tariffs. Acts as Customer Accounting liaison for bill redesign initiative and other intercompany teams. Participates as Company SME at NYPSC and NJ BPU conferences and working group meetings related to REV, VDER, or CDG. Participates in the Company’s emergency management processes and storm plans as required. Performs other related tasks and assignments as required.

Must have a valid driver’s license.
