Qualifications: O&R; Customer Energy Services is seeking to hire a Sr.Specialist to join its team. This position requires candidates to demonstrate in the application they possess the following skills and abilities:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree is required, preferably in sales/marketing, project management or a financial discipline. Advanced degree is preferred.

  • Must have 3-5 years of relevant business experience. Relevant experience includes:

  • Sales/marketing, demand-side management program implementation, project management, or financial experience.

  • E-commerce marketing and/or sales experience is preferred.

  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of demand-side management fundamentals including program design, new program implementation, evaluation and cost-effectiveness processes.

  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills necessary to interface effectively in a team environment with other departments, customers, and regulators.

  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.

  • Must be well-organized, detail-oriented and flexible to handle multiple responsibilities and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Possess and maintain high ethical standards.

  • Must have excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities: Under the general direction of the Project Specialist, implements and administers demand-side management, REV Demonstration and renewable programs for residential and small business customers. The Senior Specialist will be responsible for the delivery of residential programs and coordinate all program data collection required to ensure the measurement and verification of all program savings, tracking of energy savings, contractor oversight and goal attainment. The Senior Specialist will also support departmental financial accounting functions including but not limited to creating accounts, forecasting and tracking spending at a detailed level, and reporting results for all the Company’s demand-side management, REV Demonstration, renewable and regulatory program initiatives. Must be versatile in e-commerce marketing and sales and in directing diverse operating areas to achieve the Company’s energy efficiency goals and demonstrate strong project management skills.

Manages all aspects of the implementation of residential and small business demand-side management programs, REV Demonstration and renewable initiatives. Manages all vendors and external program support services to ensure that programs run effectively and efficiently. Communicates recommendations to contractors based on best practices and determines rebates available through Company programs. Responds to inquiries from Public Service Commissions in New York and New Jersey relating to demand-side management, REV Demonstration and renewable programs. Evaluates researches and recommends new energy efficiency products, services and technologies. Makes recommendations and spearheads implementation. Reconciles contractor invoices. Evaluates new products and works with contractors to develop implementation strategies. Prepares, tracks and administers operating budgets for all regulatory programs implemented by the department.

Maintains a working knowledge of new demand-side management technologies, REV Demonstration projects and research carried out by energy related research organizations such as EPRI, EEI, AGA, E-Source, and other applicable organizations. Represents the Company at regulatory proceedings and working groups regarding demand-side management, REV Demonstration and renewable programs in New York and New Jersey. Responds to program evaluation results that inform modifications to program design and implements the recommended changes quickly. Preserves and protects confidential information relative to the Company’s business plans, competitive strategies, customer information, and other sensitive information. Participates in the Company’s emergency management processes and storm plans as required. Performs other related assignments as required.
