Qualifications: O&R; Human Resources is seeking to hire a Specialist to join its team in the Employee Wellness department. This position requires candidates to demonstrate in the application they possess the following required skills and abilities:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition, or related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience.

  • Must have a current Registered Dietitian Certificate.

  • Masters in Clinical Nutrition or other relevant advanced degree preferred.

  • Experience in a wellness, health benefits or occupational health role with responsibility for large scale strategic initiatives and experience implementing wellness programming preferred.

Experience working with a union population preferred.

Project management experience including management of overall project components from start to finish (planning, execution and evaluation)

  • Vendor management experience including ongoing vendor interaction, review of program utilization, oversight of performance guarantees and program effectiveness.

  • Must have professional, polished oral and written communication skills in person, over the phone, and through email.

  • Must have strong presentation and interpersonal skills. Must possess a can-do attitude and should be an independent worker who requires little direction.

  • Expertise in computer applications MS Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint is required.

Strong written and verbal communication and analytical skills are required to be effective in this role.

Attention to detail and strong organizational skills will allow candidates to be flexible to manage a variety of tasks and meet deadlines, which is also required for this position.

Must have polished presentation skills to deliver health & wellness information adaptable to varying audiences.

Thorough understanding of HIPPA, PII, etc. and solid ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of duties.

Responsibilities: Under the general guidance of the Employee Wellness Manager, the Specialist is responsible for supporting the company’s Occupational Health & Wellness Programs. Will design and implement O&R;’s Nutrition Services Program. Develop corporate wellness strategy, policies and programs to address employee health and wellness needs. In addition, the position is the company’s registered dietitian overseeing individual employee counseling, group education and nutrition outreach. This employee will also support CEI corporate wellness activities and develop and implement O&R;’s wellness initiatives including but not limited to wellness challenges, flu vaccinations, educational sessions, EAP outreach, and additional projects as necessary.

As an employee, you need to commit to these ideals of developing a proactive, customer-centric culture to foster trust and confidence among customers and improve value for all our stakeholders.Conducts one-on-one nutrition counseling sessions with employees with specific focus on health conditions that may impact an employee’s ability to perform safety sensitive work (including but not limited to hypertension, sleep apnea, weight management and diabetes).Designs & administers Nutrition Services Program specific to O&R;’s employee population by monitoring health insurance claim information through data analytics program. Designs and implements Health & Wellness presentations to different departments within O&R; on various nutrition and wellness topics.Travels to O&R; locations for nutrition outreach, promotion of wellness program activities and the importance of physical activity and their correlation to increased productivity of the employee.Assists in development and implementation of wellness challenges including enrollment, messaging, development of educational materials, presentations and incentive distribution.Coordinates with Corporate Affairs and Corporate Communications to develop O&R; specific written and video communications to promote wellness initiatives and programs.Develops and maintains O&R;’s Nutrition Services/Employee Wellness intranet site.Develops and presents wellness initiatives at O&R; by utilizing resources from O&R;’s Employee Assistance Program as well as community resources.Serves as liaison with Purchasing and operating areas for pilot healthy vending projects.Partners with Benefits, including insurance carriers and Environmental Health and Safety to plan, promote and deliver wellness initiatives.Oversees coordination of annual flu vaccination program, and coordinates with Benefits to assist with health assessments. Oversees contracted vendors to implement employee physicals, exams, and drug and alcohol testing in accordance with DOT, OSHA and PSC regulations.Assists in resolution of employee inquiries related to nutrition, wellness and wellness programming.Reconciles Occupational Health/Wellness related invoices (i.e. medical exams, fit and drug testing, food service, etc.) via Oracle system. Maintains accurate recordkeeping (i.e. Workplace Injuries, Lost Time, Department of Transportation requirements, Drug & Alcohol Testing, Light-duty assignments and effective of Wellness Programs using business analytics, etc.). Schedules and coordinates Occupational medical exams and/or testing for employees (i.e., Post Incident, Fit Testing, Return to Duty, etc.). Provides appropriate information about the injury/illness to company physician (when appropriate). Administers company sick and short term disability policies and programs with company vendor MetLife.Coordinates with the company’s vendor (Sedgwick) and Law department on Workers’ Compensation related matters and consults with operating organizations and Safety Department in relation to restricted/light duty programs.Provides administrative support for the Company’s Drug and Alcohol, respirator fit-testing and retiree asbestos programs. Performs other related tasks and assignments as required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

  • Must be able and willing to travel, as needed.

  • Must be able to participate in the Company’s emergency management processes and storm plans as required.
