Con Edison Project Manager / 3L in New York, New York

Qualifications: The Law Department of Con Edison is seeking a Project Manager to join its Regulatory group. A BA/BS degree is required. A degree in paralegal studies is preferred. Applicants with a Bachelor’s Degree, must have a minimum of eight years relevant work experience, preferably in providing technical and regulatory support for management of regulatory matters in a corporate law department environment. For applicants with a Masters or equivalent higher degree, 6 years of the above mentioned experience is required. Applicants must have excellent computer skills. Excellent oral and written communications skills and interpersonal skills are required. Must have the ability to organize and coordinate projects effectively and efficiently. Must be flexible and able to handle busy work environment. Project management experience is preferred. Experience in utility operations is preferred.

Responsibilities: The primary function of this position is to serve as the Rate Case Manager for Regulatory Services. New York State Public Service Commission (“PSC”) rate cases are significant undertakings that require the making of extensive filings, responding to numerous formal discovery and information requests, and organizing numerous internal meetings and external meetings with rate case parties. The Rate Case Manager plays a significant role in organizing and monitoring completion of these tasks. To that end, the Rate Case Manager is responsible for maintaining the Rate Case Process Book, which details rate filing requirements and processes that the Company follows when preparing and then filing with the PSC. In addition, the Rate Case Manager will provide assistance on other rate filings (e.g., New Jersey Board of Public Utilities, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission). The Position Title is also responsible for monitoring post-rate decision compliance and providing assistance on other Regulatory Services activities, such as proofreading agency filings, organizing meetings and assisting on legal research. Duties for this role include: supporting attorneys and managing various functions of PSC rate case proceedings, particularly for Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc. Providing support and managing functions where appropriate for other Con Edison, Inc. regulated companies, such as Orange & Rockland Utilities, Inc. Assisting in organizing and writing the Rate Case Process Book and being primarily responsible for maintaining the book. Providing training to Company employees on the rate case process and preparing for rate cases. Providing administrative support for other PSC, NJBPU and FERC proceedings. Performing other related tasks and assignments as required. Ensure implementation of Company safety, health and environmental programs for employees whose work is directed.
