Owns and manages all Telecommunications projects that fall within the assigned portfolio. This role provides programmatic direction to Telecom Project Managers and resolves or escalates issues that affect projects within the portfolio. Ensures management insight into the assigned programs and how status of those programs affects business and operational goals.
Manage ongoing and upcoming Telecommunications projects that fall within the assigned portfolio.
Ownership of assigned Telecommunications projects and programs on a day-to-day basis. Manage programs to meet Business Unit budgets and goals and maintain communications channels to provide BU management with insight into program status.
Assist in the selection and prioritization of Telecommunications programs and related project portfolio.
Liaise and collaborate with other Project Managers to ensure that activities, issues and risks are tracked and escalated.
Responsible for administration of portfolio and project management tools and ensuring the tools are providing users with needed benefits and insight.
Develop and revise procedures in accordance with current regulatory and administrative requirements, as well as develop plans and recommend actions to management team.
Minimum education required of the position
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or Computer Science or equivalent work experience. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum experience required of the position
Five or more years' experience in Information and Telecommunications technology, with experience managing projects and portfolios.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position
Technical understanding of telecommunications principles and system operations. Familiarity with program management tools and methodology.
