Operations Analyst

Location: Morgantown, WV


Provides analytical, budget, process and system support for work unit. Works independently and identifies appropriate course of action to analyze issues, recommend solutions and administer programs for Operations. Manages or coordinates various administrative programs. Performs analysis, research and studies, and prepares various reports. May assist with material and/or service requisitions for Operations. Span of control = 0; this is an individual contributor role.


  • Develop methods to track operations activity and data for analysis.

  • Compile data from multiple business units to create daily, weekly and monthly metrics reports.

  • Prepare operations reports for presentations.

  • Review producer and gathering contract documents and develop tracking metrics.

  • Manages file structure and control of documents in multiple record management systems for the business unit.

  • Works with finance to prepare Operations budget analysis.

  • Assist Operations with the implementation of the CI process.

  • Responsible for process flow documentation, preparing countermeasure worksheets to improve process design, identifying waste, adding pre-specifications and embedded tests to continuously improve departmental processes.

  • Performs investigations and moderately complex analyses statistical, trend, root cause, etc.

  • Work Order management –Creates AFE for operations and submits to finance for Internal Order (IO) creation.

  • Reviews and independently identifies and resolves problems.

  • Assist remote organization/startups with managing business unit requirements.

  • Performs all other related duties as assigned


Minimum: High School diploma or equivalent and one-to-two years of experience in analytical role; Preferred: Bachelor's degree and three-to four-years of budget development/management experience.

  • Knowledge of operations business culture.

  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office (including: PowerPoint, Word, Visio, Project, Access, Excel).

  • Knowledge of MAPCON, SRM, SAP, OGSYS budget systems, etc., as appropriate.

  • Experience creating I/O's and purchase requisitions.

  • Experience creating presentations/organization charts.

  • Experience with Accounts Payable reporting in SAP, i.e. GR IR and Parked Report).

  • Demonstrated experience creating pivot tables, charts, graphs etc. in Excel.

  • Understanding and application of accounting rules.
