The individual selected for this important role will be responsible for providing outstanding administrative support to all functional areas (Talent Acquisition, Benefits, Employee Relations, HRMS/ Payroll Operations and Training) of the Alliant Energy Human Resources organization. In this fast paced role, no two days are ever alike and the position consists of a combination of answering inquiries and processing related human resources transactions. Strong candidates for this role will possess the ability to: Refocus their daily work priorities in an instant based on business need Prioritize multiple work requests Maintain a positive and upbeat attitude in high work volume situationsMaintain extreme confidentiality and use the utmost discretion in all situations Specific examples of the types of work performed: Posting Alliant Energy job opportunities on various recruiting sites Scheduling applicant interviews, phone screens and testing Answering benefit related emails and phone calls Replying to employee inquires related to all functional areas of HR Data entry of sensitive employee data (payroll transactions, new hire orientation, position data changes, ect) Alliant Energy will not provide sponsorship for an employment visa (e.g. H-1B visa) now or in the future for this position

Job Responsibilities Provides administrative support to all human resource functions, such as recruitment and staffing, personnel records, labor relations, compensation, benefits, training, payroll and compliance programs. Performs defined and established operational procedures accurately and timely. May perform activities involving drug and background screening.Processes various applications, benefits enrollments, compensation changes, employee and job information, and other confidential forms. Maintains and distributes appropriate information, employee and job information, and policies and procedures.Responds to telephone and electronic inquiries received from employees about various human resource programs, policies and procedures. Performs transaction support by receiving, reviewing, entering and filing requests to add or update employee and job data into human resources systems.Assists in researching and processing confidential information and documents, such as personnel records, reports and statistical information, providing certified copies of personnel records and other documents. May be responsible for maintaining the centralized employee filing system, records and reports.Assists in making recommendations for the creation and revision of policies and procedures to facilitate increased operational efficiency of the department.Performs all other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications Required Experience: This position requires a two year degree from an accredited college or university, with emphasis in human resources, business, or related area; in the absence of a degree two years of related experience is required. Preferred Experience: Four year degree with an emphasis in human resources preferred. Required Skills: Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of office equipment and computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Sharepoint). Ability to perform accurately and effectively in a timely manner. Ability to handle confidential matters discreetly. Effective planning, time management and organizational skills. Ability to carry out duties with minimal supervision.
