The Reactors and Services Business Group combines the nuclear reactor design and construction activities and the products and services activities necessary for the maintenance, operation, modernization, and improvement of power plants. It also includes vessel propulsion nuclear reactor and research reactor activities.

Job Description:

AREVA is seeking a peak PWR Field Service Representative. - Nuclear Plant Maintenance Specialist. Under broad supervision, this position is responsible for ensuring customers' nuclear power plant equipment performs reliably and at an optimum level through effective implementation of corrective, preventative and predictive programs and procedures. Typically this position is responsible for leading/direct the work for a physical task or shift during a nuclear power plant outage.


Work is highly complex;incumbents possess expert specialized knowledge and perform 5 or moreof the following duties:


  • Inspects, repairs and rebuilds mechanical and/or electrical equipment and associated structures.

  • Ensures that industrial and radiation safety requirements are followed.

  • Analyzes equipment breakdowns, determines the proper corrective action, and direct repairs.

  • Plans work schedules to accomplish required work and, when required, assign priorities.

  • May establish welding guidelines and standards.

  • Develops, implements and maintains in-service inspection, testing and maintenance programs.

  • Supports and conducts nondestructive examination (NDE) and QC inspections.

  • Researches, interprets and explains inspection results.

  • Maintains documentation to meet customer obligations and ensure proper test methodologies are in place.

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.

  • Field Service Rep. IV- High School Diploma or equivalent education (GED) and a minimum of 6 years of related experience.

o Reactor Disassembly/Reassembly Qualifications (Remove/Install Plant Hardware, Detensioning/Tensioning, Latching/Unlatching, RVLMS/RVLIS, Stud Cleaning)

o Stearns Roger & PaR Manipulator Crane Qualified

o Rigging Qualified

o Experience Operating Transfer System

o Experience Operating Spent Fuel and Long Handled Tooling

o Experience with Spent Fuel Verification

o Ability to lead up to 4 crew members

  • Nuclear Plant Maintenance Specialist I- Bachelor's Degree or 5 years of directly related experience in lieu of degree, PLUS 0-2 years of closely related experience in mechanical and or electrical work.

o Heavy Lift Qualifications (Removal/Installation of Reactor Vessel Head, Removal/Installation of Upper Internals, Removal/Installation of Vessel Plenum, Removal/Installation of Upper Guide Structure)

o Spotter Qualified

o Ability to lead up to 12 crew members

o Can interact effectively as necessary to both AREVA Management and Site Management

  • Nuclear Plant Maintenance Specialist II- Bachelor's Degree or 5 years of directly related experience in lieu of degree, PLUS 2-4 years of closely related experience in mechanical and or electrical work.

o Ability to lead entire Refueling Outage/Project

o Ability to lead up to 60 crew members

o Familiar with managing outage schedules and meeting milestones

o Can interact effectively daily to both AREVA Management and Site Management

  • Requirements for all levels:

o Advanced knowledge of commonly used equipment, practices, procedures and concepts in a particular field.

o Knowledge of company and industry safety and health policies and programs, as required for specific roles.

o Ability to effectively communicate with staff, management, vendors and customers.

o Ability to comprehend instructions, policies, procedures, drawings, and guidelines required to perform assigned tasks.

o General mathematical aptitude.

o Good computer skills

o Able to lift up to 35 pounds, bend, stoop, and remain standing for extended periods of time.

TRAVEL

Seasonal (35-75%) domestic and international travel. Potential international travel; office environment will be for training purposes.
