Position Purpose The purpose of this position is to provide leadership, organization and coordination to support project management key activities, encompassing program planning, governance, reporting and the provision of IT project management resources for all IT projects.
This position is responsible for research, design, implementation and standardization of project management methodology, templates and tools to ensure all IT projects are delivered according to a repeatable project management methodology.
Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree (preferably in computer science, engineering, or business) or an alternative combination of education and experience that results in equivalent job knowledge. Minimum ten years’ experience in a dynamic business and IT environment.
Preferred Qualifications MBA or master’s degree is desirable. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong customer relations, prioritization and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to work with senior management in the development of processes, policies and procedures. Understanding of Information Technology and Project Life Cycle and methodologies..
Job Description Implements and oversees an IT Project Management methodology. Includes all project management phases, such as analyze, design, develop, test and implement. Includes research into changing methodologies and performing regular audits to ensure adherence to guidelines.
Establishes and tracks project metrics to measure and report project effectiveness. Ensures IT employees are trained on the methodology and the status reporting process.
Implements and oversees a change management process that identifies stakeholders, develops communication strategies, and measures effectiveness. Ensures that new technology introductions have effective change management.
Develops and establishes formal IT metric reporting that will hold IT accountable for delivery to the business.
Produces a master plan of all IT projects. Monitors status and produces monthly reports for management.
Coordinates and oversees the Quality Community of Practice (COP) to ensure that projects delivered meet business requirements, schedule & budgets.
Oversees the development and maintenance of program schedules, resource allocation and budgets or forecasts. Manages the Project Management Center of Excellence resource pool.
Supervises employees and develops staff to maintain the desired technical and leadership skills required for the group. Provides counsel and specific training and development activities related to current and future assignments.
Ensures that IT Service Management processes are followed. May serve in the capacity of Process Owner or Change Advisory Board member. Ensures compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley controls within area of responsibility.
Prepares budgets for area of responsibility and assists in the preparation of plans for the department. Manages area to adhere to approved budgets.
All other duties and projects as assigned.
Work Conditions Normal office environment with some visits to fields locations.
Physical Effort Primarily sitting with optional standing/walking and moderate lifting.
