Responsible for providing management and supervision for Entergy's voice network engineering and operations, including all activities related to the design, engineering, installation and operation of voice network systems across multiple geographic regions. The Manager is responsible for positions in the Voice Engineering Services function of Telecommunications.
Oversees an Entergy technical and administrative staff in Voice Network Services. Coordinates and oversees all contract personnel that may be required to support data network infrastructure. Ensures that all supervised employees and contractors utilize standardized processes in the execution of the roles and responsibilities of the group. Ensure safe work practices for Entergy and contract personnel.
Support the design, engineering, operation and restoration of Entergy's voice network infrastructure. Achieve a high degree of customer satisfaction. Develop the technical capabilities of staff for key competencies, and research and implement best practices for continuous value improvement.
Actively support and engage in activities necessary to develop and implement repeatable methods, processes, and procedures required to routinely operate in compliance with the requirements of the Sarbanes Oxley Act, North American Electric Reliability Council (NERC) and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).
Leadership of IT initiatives to deploy and support technology solutions for business needs and to increase customer satisfaction. Provide input and support to IT engineering personnel to ensure project designs meet Corporate requirements
Evaluate performance compared to recognized standards with a goal of top decile performance and conduct yearly departmental Internal Process Reviews to ensure standardized best practices and continuous value improvement is utilized throughout the IT system.
Minimum education required of the position
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required. Desired: Advanced Degree.

Formal training and/or extensive experience in networks, systems and technologies, including:
Voice – Nortel Meridian 1, Nortel Succession, Nortel Communications Server 1000, Rolm 9006 Mod 80, Rolm 8000, Cisco Communications
Fiber - Alcatel 1648, Nortel Optera 3400/3500, Adtran 6100
Two-Way Radio - Motorola SmartZone trunked two-way radio systems
Microwave - Alcatel digital microwave radio systems and analog microwave equipment
Digital Multiplex Systems
Network design, implementation and operation experience in a telecommunications environment preferred.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position
Experience in delivering technical services to a distributed customer base, experience in managing diverse projects, supervisory experience 3+ years, strong decision making ability, strong telecommunications knowledge/background, ability to manage multiple responsibilities and deliverables, excellent written and verbal skills, strong computer skills, experience in preparing and managing large financial budgets, basic understanding of electric utility and SCADA operations, understand IT best practices, must be capable of functioning effectively in a highly-complex and fluid environment, requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, good interpersonal, communication, leadership and organizational skills are required in the conduct of daily business, must be a proactive and self-confident customer focused self-starter, and must be a process oriented individual with strong coaching skills.

Be able to maintain a valid Driver's License, CCA/PEL access card or other applicable required license, background check, or ID.
Employee must be able to lift shipping containers up to 40 pounds, as the role requires the movement of hardware from site locations to other buildings in accordance with predetermined hardware utilization plans.
