JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:

Provides support and expertise on Telecommunications network systems and services. Primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the availability of applicable systems and services, and to support the planning, design, development, and testing of new infrastructure, systems and services.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and assist Telecommunications initiatives.

  • Resolve complex technical problems through experience and coordination of efforts with Entergy personnel, customers and vendors.

  • Recommend, plan and execute implementation of new infrastructure and services, as well as modifications to existing infrastructure and services to improve operation or resolve problems.

  • Conduct business and analytical studies to integrate business needs into system-wide development plans to ensure customer needs are met.

  • Assist development of strategic and tactical plans.

  • Analyze, propose and manage projects in terms of equipment, hardware/software, personnel, contractor and other costs and schedules.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum education required of the position

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required. Desired: Advanced Degree.

Minimum experience required of the position

7 years IT experience. LAN/WAN administration experience preferred.

Be able to maintain a valid Driver's License, TWIC card or other applicable required license, background check, or ID.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Employee must be able to lift shipping containers up to 40 pounds, as the role requires the movement of hardware from site locations to other buildings in accordance with predetermined hardware utilization plans.
