JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

Responsible for developing, planning and directing Entergy Arkansas’ economic development programs, activities and policies to improve the economy in the company's service territory. These functions include: community development, business retention & expansion, business recruiting & project management, major account management and research & analysis. The Director also ensures integration of the economic development function with Entergy’s customer service representatives through communication and collaboration to better capture new, expansion, and retention opportunities. The Director interacts with Entergy’s corporate Economic Development group on industry-focused business development, strategic research, and investment in innovative technologies that provides lead generation, and consistency in quality and speed of service delivery.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for strategic direction, planning and performance of organization to develop profitable growth opportunities in the Entergy's service territory. Develop programs that support and enhance the company's competitiveness for growth with state and local economic development partners and allies.

  • Develop and manage relationships with local ED professionals and local business leaders.

  • Provide recruiting and project management leadership to the team on new prospects and existing business projects.

  • Work with local ED professionals to encourage the development of quality industrial sites.

  • Coordinate with peer Entergy Directors & Corporate ED to enhance program effectiveness and identify best practices.

  • Direct functions to grow and retain existing revenues and meet electric service needs of major industrial customers.

  • Be engaged with and provide leadership to state level economic development policy, incentives and legislation.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education required of the position

BS in Marketing, Business Administration, Engineering, Public Administration or related field or equivalent work experience

Master’s degree is highly desirable.

Minimum experience required of the position

8+ years in leadership roles, preferably in economic development, marketing or customer service

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position

Knowledge of and experience with the economic development process is desired. Relationship development skills are essential.

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position

Certified Economic Developer or equivalent experience.
