JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

  • Responsible for scheduling and coordinating plant equipment surveillance testing and preventative maintenance tasks.

  • ​Act as Department Performance Improvement Coordinator (DPIC) as assigned to support selected department managers in their execution of the Entergy Standardized fleet procedures, processes and software tools used to implement the key programs for Corrective Action, Self-Assessment/Benchmarking and Trending.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Screen Condition Reports for assignment, corrective actions and completion.​

  • Perform, review and provide input to department Self-Assessments and benchmarks.​

  • Apply trend codes to issues documented in the Corrective Action Process and periodically review trend data to support department excellence plans.​

  • Works effectively with the Management Team setting priorities, allocating resources, and driving to operational excellence.​

  • Oversees the development and maintenance of the detailed work schedule for on line surveillances and preventative maintenance tasks. Participates on high impact teams. Oversees the development and maintenance of resource loading profiles. Develops 'what if' schedules and performs analysis with the working groups to determine the most effective method of scheduling the work.​

  • Updates the work management and scheduling software programs. Coordinates the provision of reports to system engineers to define work scope. Oversees the coordination with Operations to determine the scope of tagging system boundaries. Conducts critical path analysis for outage schedules.​

  • Assists with development of post work critiques. Facilitates the interface between work groups. Identifies deficiencies, analyzes alternatives, and recommends solutions to schedule conflicts. Performs field observations of personnel to reinforce standards and expectations and identify gaps in performance.

  • Works with management to identify and address performance deficiencies. Recommends and implements actions to improve gaps to operational excellence. Recommends changes to existing methods, procedures, and processes to improve overall outage activities.

  • Communicates technical information, concepts, and ideas verbally and in writing. Observes and ensures compliance with procedures and policies. Assesses conditions and makes decisions under pressure and time constraints. Serves as a member of the Emergency Response Organization.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education required of the position

  • Desired: B.S. Degree in Engineering or other scientific discipline generally associated with power plant operations or equivalent, or equivalent work experience

Minimum experience required of the position

  • Sr Engineer - 2 - 5 years experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent, depending upon engineering level.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position

  • Technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operation. Desired: outstanding communication, conflict management, and change management skills. Proficiency with current computer business applications.

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position

  • Desired: SRO License or certification.
