Responsible for the engineering and safety of nuclear fuel and nuclear fuel components and the project management of nuclear fuel reloads for the boiling water reactors (BWRS) in the Entergy nuclear fleet.
Supervise engineering of BWR nuclear fuel components and supporting equipment. Implement procedures and documentation that govern and control BWR nuclear fuel reloads and fuel receipt.
Supervise BWR engineering fuel reload activities and work requests to provide BWR nuclear fuel that is designed and built to the highest nuclear safety standards, attains high reliability through design, operational input and targeted inspections, meets cycle specific demands, is cost-effective, and is delivered on schedule to support the needs and operation of the fleet BWR nuclear plants.
Supervise support activities for the fleet BWR nuclear plants related to the safe and efficient operation and storage of the nuclear fuel.
Implement best practices in BWR nuclear fuel reload management. This includes benchmarking with the industry and coordination as appropriate with INPO, EPRI, and NEI on nuclear fuel issues.
Administer contracts in accordance with fleet procedures.
Minimum education required of the position
B.S. degree in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline or equivalent experience. (Equivalent experience is defined as demonstrated success at the Supervisor level. A degree is very strongly preferred.)
Minimum experience required of the position
6 years experience in nuclear power and fuel design, construction, maintenance, operations, production, or equivalent. Supervisory experience preferred.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position
Technical proficiency in nuclear fuel management. Technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operation. Outstanding communication, conflict management, and change management skills. Proficiency with current computer business applications.
Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position
Professional Engineering (Nuclear discipline) license preferred.
