Senior Manager- Electrical Transmission and Distribution Lines

This position plans, monitors and manages regional long-term strategic projects and programs from initiation through completion. In addition, secures required resources, and uses formal processes and tools to manage resources, budgets, risks and changes. One may also manage projects to ensure on-time completion according to specifications and within budgeted costs.

The essential duties and responsibilities of the position include, but not limited to:

  • Promote safety – assist with the implementation of all applicable HSE programs, policies and procedures.

  • Provide supervision to assigned staff, to review project proposal or plan to fully understand the scope of the work and contract to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.

  • Build customer relations in conjunction with Business Development lead. Represent the division at various conferences and customer meetings for brand awareness.

  • Work closely with the General Manager or VP in regard to strategic development of the area/region.

  • Develop and train employees, manage performance expectations.

  • Manage the RFP process for assigned region / customer and review associated bid packages.

  • Review and approve project/program/region reports for management, clients, or others.

  • Responsible for Profit & Loss for region / program.

  • Facilitate the resolution of complex problems associated with program/region.

  • Promote “One Michels” concept throughout all levels of the Region.

  • Promote and elevate Michels culture.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications include a minimum of ten years of prior substation and distribution and transmission line power construction project management experience and proven track record of profitability. Applicants must be able to handle multiple projects at one time, possess the ability to successfully negotiate terms and conditions, manage tight deadlines, demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication to collaborate with various levels of management and proficiency in computer software skills specifically with estimating and job cost tracking software.
