Energize your career at Exelon!PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITIONOperates the BGE electric system, under the immediate supervisor of the Shift Manager and Distribution System Dispatcher II - BGE, using various computer systems (OMS, ECS, WMS, Mobile Maps, etc. ); Utilizes processes and procedures under immediate supervisor to perform routing work; switching, logging, analysis of data and determining priority of work on electrical and computer systems. ; Performs assigned tasks as directed such as; analyzing faulted equipment, and load studies. ; Works closely with TSO Procedures & Training to enhance personal knowledge of system operations. ; Responsible for field visits with Substation Shift Technicians and generation plant operators to learn field equipment and processes. ; Responsible for successful completion of classroom and on-line training on PJM, Transmission, Distribution, Substation Safety, Lock - Out/Tag - Out (LOTO), and Operating Computer Systems. Position may be required to work extended hours, including 24 x 7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies. PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES1; Operate the BGE electric system under the immediate supervisor of the Shift Manager and Distribution System Dispatcher II - BGE. 2; Perform routing work; switching, logging, analysis of data and determining priority of work on electrical and computer systems. 3; Performs assigned tasks as directed such as; analyzing faulted equipment and load studies. 4; Work closely with TSO Procedures & Training to enhance personal knowledge of system operations. 5; Keep supervisors informed of abnormal system conditions, major customer outages and equipment related problems. 6; Maintain operating log, interruption reports and associated records to accurately record system status and sequence of events. 7; Responsible for field visits with Substation Shift Technicians and generation plant operators to learn field equipment/processes. POSITION SPECIFICATIONSMinimum Requirements:

TRANSMISSION SYSTEM DISPATCHER I - - BS in Engineering or technical field AND at least 1 year professional experience OR- Associates in technical field or High School diploma AND a minimum of 2 years of job experience, preferably in the electrical field. - Understanding of the electric transmission and distribution systems.Ability to recognize system configuration, loading, and pressure issues.Ability to demonstrate thorough knowledge and understanding of proper operating procedures. - Excellent written and oral communication skills. - Demonstrated analytical skills and judgment. - Demonstrated ability to respond to emergencies and manage stressful situations. - Candidate must be “ Recommended” on the System Operator / Power Dispatch (SOPD) test to be eligible for consideration.

TRANSMISSION SYSTEM DISPATCHER II – -A minimum of one year experience as a Transmission System Dispatcher I OR -Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or technical field and a minimum of 2 years of engineering job experience OR -Associates degree in technical field AND a minimum of 4 years technical job experience OR -High school diploma or equivalent AND a minimum of 6 years experience in electrical construction and maintenance Understanding of the electric transmission and distribution systems. Ability to recognize system configuration, loading, and pressure issues. Ability to demonstrate thorough knowledge and understanding of proper operating procedures.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Demonstrated analytical skills and judgment.

Demonstrated ability to respond to emergencies and manage stressful situations.

Candidate must be “Recommended” on the System Operator / Power Dispatch (SOPD) test to be eligible for consideration.

TRANSMISSION SYSTEM DISPATCHER I - - Bachelors Degree Electrical or Mechanical Engineering- Associates Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering- Minimum 2 years of job experience in the electrical field

TRANSMISSION SYSTEM DISPATCHER II-- Bachelors Degree Electrical or Mechanical Engineering- Associates Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering- Minimum 3 years of job experience in the electrical field

Qualifications

-Functional control over various operating, construction, testing, customer and contractor groups in the performance of limited electrical switching, repair, testing and related work activities involving lines, transformers, and other equipment under the jurisdiction of the Shift Manager and System Dispatcher II - BGE. - The different groups include overhead operating, overhead and underground maintenance and distribution testing, substation construction and maintenance. --The consequences of operating errors or improper system operation could cost the company millions of dollars in direct, indirect and intangible costs such as the loss of customer good will, damaged company equipment, damaged customer equipment and damage to the company's public image. ---Independent judgment is essential in making the real time decisions necessary to maintain the integrity, reliability and security of BGE's electric transmission and distribution system.
