NiSource Sr Claims Analyst in Columbus, Ohio
Purpose:The Claims Analyst is responsible for NiSource claims management, which includes establishing, monitoring and analyzing loss reserves; partnering with third party administrators to ensure timely settlement and resolution of outstanding claims; providing analytics around effectiveness of program; ensuring compliance with various state laws and regulations.Claims Analyst positions may assume responsibility for claims activities involving Auto Liability, Auto Physical Damage, General Liability, Employer Liability, Employment Practices Liability, Fiduciary and Directors and Officers claims, short-term and long-term disability or Workers Compensation depending upon the incumbents experience and interests. The Claims Analyst is responsible for coordinating claims management issues with in-house counsel, outside counsel, HR, operations, third party administrators, excess insurers, brokers and others as called for.Key outcomes for success include:

Reporting: Compiles, organizes and formats data, including qualitative analysis required for internal and external reporting. Identifies and researches reporting issues, provides recommendations, assists with the adoption of new reporting requirements.
Regulatory: Recognizes situations where the regulatory framework may impact claim handling. Provides timely support for data requests related to rate case inquiry.
Technical/Professional Knowledge and Skills: Understands terminology and developments. Knows when to and can apply technical knowledge to processes, procedures, and tasks.
