NiSource Sr Business Application Analyst in Columbus, Ohio

The Senior Business Application Analyst acts as the functional system administrator for the NiSource Time and Labor business applications and as liaison between system end-users and the technical team that supports the Time and Labor business applications (Infor-WorkBrain).

Essential Responsibilities: Develop processes to train and assist end users in the effective utilization of the time and labor applications Assist end users in requirement gathering for business reporting needs Develop comprehensive, dynamic financial data reports for both internal and external customers utilizing Workbrain. Create ad hoc reports as required utilizing Workbrain and employ Microsoft Office for analysis Work with business end users to identify functional issues within the application and recommend appropriate solutions Work closely with NiSource technical partners to prioritize Help Desk Tickets and monitor progress on IT Job Requests Identify opportunities to leverage new and existing technology in the Time and Labor applications Provide assistance in developing and executing quarterly SOX testing and remedy any situation that would cause a test to fail. Maintain functional configuration of the WorkBrain application. Interface with IT HR Project management to provide functional system application knowledge during upgrades and enhancements. Prepare test scripts and participate in User Acceptance Testing of upgrades and enhancements. Requires ability to successfully coordinate projects. Proficiency in multiple functions, as well as successful assumption of increasingly technical projects and responsibilities. Ability to provide both functional and technical advice to others in an accurate and timely manner.Duties: Creates test scripts to test new work rules or improve work rules as needed. Administer security setup within the WorkBrain application. Maintains time codes, work rules, shift patterns, pay calendars and other configurations within the WorkBrain application. Creates reports in Workbrain to analyze time data for the business units. Recommends and designs unique, complex or enhanced HR data reports using PeopleSoft report writer tools. Participates on non-recurring application projects as needed Performs duties under direction of Team Leader or Manager Provides support to financial accounting, HR and Payroll analysts. Cross trains among the WorkBrain and PeopleSoft HR applications and develop teamwork to assist in analyzing system issues. Prepares tests for SOX internal control testing, maintain adequate segregation of duties and controls to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements Competencies: Adaptability Initiating action Building partnerships Customer focus / Issue resolution Continuous improvement

Requires BS/BA in Human Resource Management, Information Systems or other business discipline. Equivalent experience in lieu of a degree will be considered. High School diploma or equivalent is required Proficient in PC applications with emphasis on Infor-WorkBrain, PeopleSoft HR and Microsoft Office. Requires demonstrated ability to be self-sufficient and self-motivated. Requires (3 or more years) experience in the IT and/or HR/Payroll discipline. Requires demonstrated proficiency in multiple functions, as well as successful assumption of increasingly technical projects and responsibilities. Requires proven ability to provide both functional and technical advice to others in an accurate and timely manner. Requires Oracle SQL skills. Demonstrated ability to resolve application issues.
