Job Description Position Summary:

Responsible for ensuring financial performance and compliance of agreements including volumetric and pricing verification. Liaison between traders, schedulers, customers, accounting department and counterparties. Identifies and resolves discrepancies.

Principal Accountabilities:

  1. Enter transaction data into systems.

  2. Accumulate settlement data for analysis and reporting.

  3. Initiate and foster strong working relationships with counterparties.

  4. Resolve counterparty questions, disputes, and data errors in the operations of settlement computations.

  5. Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the competitive energy market.

  6. Identify and recommend improvements to procedures and software to improve accuracy, efficiency and timeliness.

  7. Interface with commercial operations, corporate accounting, legal, treasury, tax, IT, audit, credit, risk, transmission and regulatory departments.

  8. Work closely with other AEP business units and the information Technology group to validate the accuracy and completeness of Settlement input data.

  9. Analyze and validate AEP energy accounting results for accuracy, and reasonableness.

  10. Sarbanes Oxley Documentation of Internal Controls and Compliance.

Minimum Requirements


Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field, or the equivalent in education and experience. Must maintain proficient computer skills: Access, Word, Excel and specifically designed settlement software.


1-2 years with a minimum consistent rating at previous level of 3.
