NiSource HR Employment Analyst in Columbus, Ohio

The HR Employment Analyst will participate in the administration of the Hire The Best (HTB) hiring process. This includes providing human resources support to the NGD Team and the Corporate HR Team in regards to the Hire The Best process development, implementation, and continuous improvement. This position will work closely with the other HR Employment Analyst who is part of the HTB team.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Participate in improving administrative systems, procedures and processes related to HTB; customers include VP HR NGD, HRIS, HRCs and vendors

Support the NGD HR Team with expertise and counsel on all PeopleSoft and Recruiting Solutions applications

Provide support and assistance to the other HTB HR Employment Analyst

Create Job Postings and process all transactions related to new employee hiring including but not limited to: preparing offer letters, updating applicant statuses, and sending out appropriate communications

Participate in the interview process

Help plan, organize and attend job fairs as needed

Assist HRCs with questions about completing online documentation connected with all HTB new hires and rehires

Coordinate with NGD HR Consultants (HRC) to ensure timely completion of Operations Job Fit Analyses, Aptitude Tests, Physical Capacity Assessments (PCA), background checks, and drug screens

Schedules applicants for Aptitude Tests and Physical Capacity Assessments

Serve as a point of contact for applicants regarding their selection status and inquiries regarding the HTB process

Attend meetings related to the HTB Process including meeting with Vendors

Process vendor invoices

Serves as a Subject Matter Expert regarding the HTB process and consults with employees at all levels of the organization to build strong working relationships

Run and interpret reports regarding the effectiveness of the HTB process. Communicate that information to the HTB team and NGD HR Team and leadership

Maintain databases to track HTB data and summarize data for efficient use by the NGD HR Team and Leadership

Provide basic support for NGD HR Team including but not limited to policies, procedures and systems regarding HTB

Maintain and update presentations and spreadsheets

Work towards implementing HTB for other business units and hiring groups

Serves as a point of contact for HTB staffing and recruiting

Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field is preferred

2 years or more experience working as a member of an HR Team

Experience in all aspects of recruiting

Proven expertise in dealing effectively with others, including demonstrating the following competencies: personal confidence and strong initiative, effective listening, ability to influence others, and the desire to go above and beyond what is required

Excellent computer skills required: proficient in Microsoft Office, electronic communications (email, calendars, etc). PeopleSoft HR experience a plus

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Knowledge, skills and abilities in Human Resources functions, policies, and procedures

Demonstrated sense of urgency, responsiveness, and willingness to go the extra mile to meet customer needs

Ability to think independently, problem solve, and maintain composure in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment

Proven ability to multi-task and juggle several responsibilities at one time

Ability to function in a team environment and collaborate within and across organizational lines

Professional Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred
