The essential duties and responsibilities of the position include, but not limited to:

  • Promote safety – assist with the implementation of all applicable HSE programs, policies and procedures

  • Responsible for establishing the project’s baseline schedule and maintaining the monthly updates

  • Assist in developing and implementing work plans, checklist, and regulatory compliance.

  • Identifies purchasing needs and initiates the purchase requisition process

  • Manage subcontractors, support crews in their daily activities, and take charge of portions of the work

  • Evaluate cost vs. budget, read reports and use as a tool

  • Assist the Project Engineer with delivery of the project submittals

  • Identify and track changes

  • Interact with inspectors and customer representatives on issues related to the project

  • Develop inspection/test plans and checklists for their work

  • Track operations to develop lessons learned to optimize production

  • Manage document control process and follow through with proper procedures

  • Resolve technical problems within scope of responsibility

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mining Engineering and have 2-5 years’ experience with major projects in heavy civil construction such as water and wastewater, pipeline, trenchless technologies, transportation, and structures.

  • Possess the ability to successfully negotiate terms and conditions.

  • Manage tight deadlines.

  • Positive attitude with the desire to continue learning.

  • High level of organization and attention to details.

  • Applicants must be able to thrive in fast-paced environments.

  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication to collaborate with various levels of management.

  • Excellent computer software skills including the Microsoft Office suite, AutoCAD or similar 2D-3D software, and scheduling software.
