Security Systems Technician
The Facilities Building Maintenance and Services team is currently seeking a motivated and dynamic professional to join them as a Security Systems Technician. In this position, you will integrate commercial security, access control, CCTV and all other facility security systems. Installation and service includes wiring, hardware, power connections and network connections.
Responsibilities will include:
Wiring, installing, programming and servicing security, camera, intercom, audio/video and access control systems
Installation of new hardware and low-voltage controls
Installing, maintaining and performing preventative maintenance and inspections of intrusion detection systems
Adjusting equipment, repairing or replacing inoperative equipment and testing for operation
Basic understanding of computer networking, including routers, switches, IP addressing and basic troubleshooting
Reading blueprints, building and electrical plans in order to complete equipment repairs
Documenting work by completing work orders on each job and maintaining files
Determining parts to order for repairs and timeliness of need
Providing technical support to customers
Following Colorado Springs Utilities safety policies and procedures, industry standard requirements and common best practices to produce top quality workmanship
Transporting tools and materials to various work sites using a company vehicle

What will it take to be successful? Essential to success in this position is the ability to diagnose electronic access control and the ability to identify and troubleshoot malfunctioning or inoperable security equipment. Most people will offer experience in commercial facility security systems (e.g., Avigilon, Pelco), IP cameras and the installation and maintenance of iSTAR controllers and field devices as well as power supplies. Additional experience with C•CURE 9000 Access Control+ Security Management is helpful.
