PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITIONThe Analyst or Senior Analyst, Receivable Management is responsible for daily commercial collection activities in accordance with established policies, practices and procedures.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES 1. Responsible for collection of customer accounts receivable balances leveraging automated tools2. Research and reconcile discrepancies relating to customer accounts3. Research and resolve unidentified customer payments4. Daily prioritization and managing collection activities calling on past-due customers using a variety of methods (email, letters, phone calls, 3rd party as-needed)5. Prepare reporting detailing at-risk/delinquent customers6. Participate in Customer account reviews with management7. Coordinate collection activity with sales, marketing and customer care departments

Qualifications

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS Minimum:•BS in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or a related degree •At least 5 years related experience including commercial collections experience •Knowledge of bad debt and write off process and its impact on the financials•Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills with ability to handle multiple duties•Must be self-motivated and possess excellent time management skills•Ability to make independent decisions and escalate issues to management when appropriate•Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with commercial and functional partners, external counterparties, vendors, and management within Risk, Finance, and the Retail Business. Preferred:•Commercial collections experience within the energy industry. •Strong analytical skills, experienced negotiation skills, strong attention to details and problem solving techniques•Knowledge of front end credit evaluation, bankruptcies, and workouts. •Experience with automated collections software applications and/or systems implementations POSITION SCOPE The Analyst or Sr Analyst, Receivable Management has direct impact on Cash Collection activities and impacts company bad debt expense through collection activities performed. The incumbent delivers excellent customer service to internal/external customers, including but not limited to customers and internal, as well as interacts with departments such as Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Transaction Management and Billing. One has extensive interaction with management as needed. Must be flexible in scheduling time and expected to be a participant in meetings The incumbent must be able to make independent decisions when necessary within DOFA guidelines. Works under general to limited supervision. This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
