Seeking a dynamic and experienced renewable technology business and data analyst who is able to turn business requirements into customized data analytics/reports. The ideal candidate for this position is able to assess business needs, analyze business procedures, discover data source, and recommend data usage to provide business intelligence. This will include but is not limited to ensuring the correct data is being extracted and compiling data via visual analytical tools to enable self-service. The candidate will primarily work with renewable technology interconnection data, customer data, and renewable generation operational data to perform analytics.
Facilitate conversations with stakeholders within the Distributed Energy Technology Department or other functional areas of the company to collect and define business requirements for data needs; maintain business requirements document and matrix; Liaison to IT to implement new business requirements, enable data availability, and construct visual and automated analytical data models/dashboards to support internal and external business needs; Understand data governance framework, assess errors/inconsistencies in the data and provide problem solving on data quality issues; Able to work with new data sets and develop new data models, has ability to explore new assumptions and adjust accordingly; Be constantly curious and continue to pursue in-depth explorations of data sets; discovering, transforming, validating or modeling data by metrics, tables, statistical prediction and graphic visualization to communicate business intelligence to meet the evolving business needs for management reporting, regulatory reporting, performance metrics and strategy decisions. Communicate complicated data findings in a clear and concise manner; Staying accountable and respond to changing business needs; Support current IT Data Mart Project to convert to modern BI analytical environment, including change management, data transformation and user training; Qualifications: Basic Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited four-year College or University with a degree in a related field with at least 5 years of directly work related experience. Experience in the electric utility industry and knowledge of renewable technologies; Must have 5-7 years of big data analysis and/or reporting experience; Ability to interface with multiple stakeholders across an organization; strong interpersonal and communication skills;
Demonstrated knowledge of databases and data management techniques, quantitative modeling, statistical analysis, project management, business reporting and performance tracking
Strong written and interpersonal communication skills and exposure to senior management presentations. Problem solving and demonstrated experience in leading projects (or other team members) and implementation skills.
MBA, masters or advanced degree in a relevant field Basic knowledge of SQL and/or other data-mining languages; Microsoft Power BI, Power Pivot, Tableau, Qlik or similar BI software skills desired; Job: Energy Marketing and Trading
