    About this job:

  • Support the Facility Manager in the integration of sound facility management practices that ensure cost efficiency, optimum levels of service and asset protection. Ensure service and support needs are continually addressed at NorthWestern Energy's operating areas

  • Maintain and update electronic building plans for purposes dealing directly with space planning, management and project development

  • Manager assigned facility construction and maintenance projects

  • Provide cost estimates, scheduling, conceptual drawings, and when required, bid ready drawings and specifications for new construction or renovation projects

  • Communicate and develop professional working relationships with state and local agencies, vendors, contractors and design professionals

  • Prepare cost studies relating to facility and utility improvement and renovation projects for approval

  • Understanding of RFP, bidding and GCCM practices

  • Manage contractors/service providers and inspect work to ensure it is performed in conformance to the contract, all applicable policies, building codes and regulations. Ensure project costs, schedule and scope are maintained

  • Basic understanding of Heating, Air Conditioning and Ventilation (HVAC) systems

  • Ability to understand complex construction drawings and specifications

  • Adapts and moves easily from one priority to another

  • Ability to problem solve, negotiate and participates in conflict resolution

  • Good document organization and decision-making skills

  • Ability to address space needs with creative solutions

  • Travel up to 15% of the time

  • Requires lifting of materials up to 25 pounds

  • Demonstrate and maintain a good safety record

  • Must possess strong interpersonal communication skills

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, related or equivalent experience

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project), proficiency with AutoCAD/Revit. Project management skills

  • Excellent writing and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with internal customers

  • Ability to achieve FMP (Facility Management Professional) or CFM (Certified Facility Manager) credentials

  • Professional, self-directed and be able to work independently or in teams

  • Knowledge of SAP and company accounting procedures preferred
