MDU Resources Group Sales Representative - Ready Mix in Bryan, Texas

Job Summary:

The Sales Representative will be responsible for the successful marketing of ready mixed concrete in the Bryan, TX area. The successful candidate will be responsible for prospecting leads, bidding jobs, following up on projects and managing relationships with both existing and potential customers. This position will service the residential, multi-family and commercial market segments.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.

  • Three years of experience in the ready mixed concrete business, a related industry, or previous sales experience.

  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License and be able to pass the companies pre-employment requirements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deal with high pressure situations with minimal supervision.

  • Proficient in the use of computer applications in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Professional, Self-motivated, and organized.

  • Ability to negotiate and win trust easily.

  • Microsoft Office Skills.

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.

Duties and/or Responsibilities:

  • Make and track daily sales calls on current and prospective customers.

  • Foster ongoing communication with all internal departments to facilitate customer needs and company goals.

  • Assist customers regarding service, pricing, quality, merchandising and product training as needed.

  • Call on contractors, sub-contractors, government agencies, homebuilders and developers to solicit new business.

  • Follow up on sales leads, obtaining information needed to bid projects.

  • Evaluate building plans and specifications.

  • Develop product knowledge, and be able to identify products that best fit customer needs.

  • Prepare quotes/bids for projects.

  • Follow through with customers to ensure satisfaction on jobs awarded.

  • Monitor service and product quality during delivery and installation.

  • Facilitate pre-construction, construction and post-construction meetings with appropriate internal staff.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
