This position will be a rotating shift position at Power New England stations located at Bridgeport and New Haven, Connecticut.
Provide strong leadership and supervision in the start-up, shutdown, operation, and maintenance of coal and gas fired boilers, steam turbines, gas turbines, electric generators and associated equipment. Ensure safe, profitable, and environmentally compliant plant operation. Coordinate the daily and outage related work required to maintain unit availability. Coordinate the operation of the generating units with New England ISO and the Trading Floor. Communicate with outside agencies as well as internal and external clients. Manage contractors. Administer Company/Union Agreement. Establish high standards and provide leadership and motivation by training, appraising, coaching, counseling, rewarding and disciplining associates.
Required Skills, Competencies, Education or Experience:
· Bachelor's Degree and 5 years extensive power plant experience or High School Diploma and 10 years of extensive power plant experience.
· 5-10 years supervisory experience.
· Fossil Fuel Fired operations and maintenance experience.
· Must obtain an acceptable score on the First Line Supervisor's test unless presently a first line supervisor who has continuously supervised maintenance or operating personnel for a minimum of 12 months.
· Ability to work rotating shifts with rotating days off.
· Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
· Understanding of permit limitations and regulatory requirements.

· Must demonstrate and value differences in others' strengths, perspectives, approaches, and personal choices.
Desired Skills, Competencies, Education or Experience:
· Proficiency in SAP
· Technical certification or training and familiarity with Work Clearance Management System.
· Experience with safety and environmental regulations and company/union workforce.
· Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
