Where we are

Bloomington Indiana is located in the Midwest and south central Indiana. Located just off the newly developed highway 69, Bloomington is a short commute to Indianapolis and an easy drive to Cincinnati, Louisville, Nashville or Chicago – in fact, over half of the US is within a one day drive of Bloomington, Indiana! What you will be doing

  • Work to develop bargaining unit team members within the operations department providing feedback and coaching along the way

  • Oversee and coordinate work activities to ensure safe and reliable service, while maintaining budget and compliance requirements

  • Develop industry specific skills, knowledge, and an understanding of operation and construction standards and compliance rules

  • Develop relationships with internal and external customers and contractors, including public safety and local municipal, county and state officials where you will be working to meet and exceed their expectations daily

  • Communicate with customers, visit customer and work sites – balancing your time in the office and in the field including being exposed to all weather elements

  • Safety is a critical component of our every day; we work to ensure workplace safety and maintain safe working conditions through field inspection of work sites and equipment regularly

  • Manage multiple assignments and priorities concurrently, while looking for ways to continuously improve our processes to gain efficiencies and make your job easier!

  • Participate in emergency response activities as needed or support company operations during periods of labor unrest

  • Demonstrate and foster an environment of civic involvement in local communities

  • In order to provide best in class service, we ensure availability on a 24/7 basis to respond to field emergencies and implement emergency response procedures as necessary including periods of on-call duty watch as required

What you bring

  • An associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school with 4-6 years related experience and / or training desired or equivalent combination of education and experience

It would be awesome if you have:

  • A bachelor’s degree with a focus in management, organizational development or functional / technical type of degree in construction etc.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and someone who enjoys implementing positive change and empowering others to perform at their best

  • A passion for change with a continuous improvement mindset

  • Enthusiasm for a fast-paced work environment where customer service is paramount

  • Experience in a gas or electric utility operations
