Risk & Compliance Analyst

This position will perform Technology Organization (TO) risk management and compliance activities for SCS TO organization. The position will help ensure that SCS TO has appropriate controls in place and can demonstrate compliance with internal and external requirements including Sarbanes Oxley, NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection, Payment Card Industry Standards and internal policies and procedures, including change management. Occasional overnight travel may be required. This position will be located in Birmingham, Alabama at the Alabama Power headquarters location.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure changes to the technology environment are appropriately documented, authorized and implemented

  • Reviews existing and helps facilitate the development and documentation for new TO Policies and Standards.Works with Compliance, Internal Audit and other organizations to ensure policies meet control standards established by the company.

  • Develop and deliver change management training to stakeholders

  • Develop, document and publish metrics to measure change management success

  • Represent TO on the PCI Governance team

  • Understand and audit PCI controls

  • Evaluate new credit card acceptance procedures

  • Assist the TO NERC CIP and TO SOX Coordinators with their respective compliance programs

  • Provide management level summaries of compliance and risk issues in concise business terms

  • Identify and recommend operational efficiency changes needed to streamline / automate compliance activities

  • Assist in the updates of the TO Risk profile

  • Support post critiques of TO operational events and identify improvement opportunities

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education Requirements

  • College graduate preferred, BS/BA Degree in Computer Science / Information Security or related field; CISA or related certifications preferred

Experience Requirements

  • Prior TO Security and/or internal controls experience preferred

Preferred Areas of Knowledge

  • TO controls and processes

  • Industry regulations

  • Compliance programs and auditing practices

  • Information Security principles
