Job Description Summary:
Senior Analyst (Transmission Rates and Revenue Requirements)
Eversource,a Fortune 500 and S&P 500 energy company operating New England’s largest energy delivery system,has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Analyst in its Transmission Rates and Revenue Requirements group. This senior level position will provide financial expertise in support of the Transmission business segment’s objectives including the opportunity to contribute to the development of regulatory strategy and implementation of process improvements.
The Senior Analyst will gain valuable experience and Company exposure through interfacing with multiple internal departments as well as external regulators. The selected candidate will serve as an essential member of the team and have the following responsibilities associated with the review and oversight of the Company’s transmission wholesale rates, transmission revenue requirements, and regulatory filings for the Transmission owning electric subsidiaries:
- Prepares and reviews annual transmission tariff rate calculations and associated revenue requirements
- Performs or reviews impact analysis to earnings and customer rates of Company initiatives and regulatory decisions
- Provides or reviews cost allocation calculations and detailed financial analysis in connection with regulatory compliance requirements
- Researches utility industry proceedings and procedures to gain critical insight which assists in shaping strategic policy and ensures consistent and accurate regulatory filings
- Oversees financial calculations associated with the annual budget and five-year financial forecast processes and perform related variance analysis
The successful candidate should have the ability to apply broad knowledge of accounting and financial theory to a utility ratemaking environment. The aptitude to draw sound conclusions, act decisively and possess the willingness to work with a sense of urgency and drive business results are fundamental. Theability to effectively work under multiple and competing priorities is required. A high degree of initiative and ownership and ability to work successfully in a fast paced environment may drive your success and career development. Excellent written and oral communication skills, organization skills and the ability to contribute to a collaborative and positive work atmosphere are also required.
A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or closely-related discipline required. A CPA, MBA or advanced degree is strongly preferred. A minimum of 8 years of related experience required, preferably with a broad range of accounting or finance areas of focus. Experience in regulatory financial concepts such as revenue requirements and transmission rate making is a plus.
