The hiring manager will determine which level in the Generation Process Specialist hierarchy aligns to the successful candidates qualifications. Generation Process Specialist (GPS) 2, or Generation Process Specialist (GPS) Position will be home based at the Hines Energy Complex in Bartow, Florida. Successful completion of the Power Plant Maintenance Selection System (MASS) and (POSS) aptitude testing is required for this position. Will require working a rotating 12 hour shift. We are actively recruiting for a multi-skilled individual who will be responsible for performing all tasks associated with the operations and maintenance of this combined cycle combustion turbine power plant and the associated balance of plant equipment. Key Responsibilities: Assures operational efficiency, unit reliability and compliance with safety and environmental standards. Maintains and executes tactical processes in a team oriented, multi-discipline, rotating shift environment. The GPS2 level requires a journeyman level proficiency in at least two of the core skill areas, and progression level proficiency in the other two skills. The GPS level (is the more senior level of the two), and requires journeyman level proficiency in at least three of the core skill areas and have progression skills in the fourth discipline. 1.Electrical Maintenance- Experienced in troubleshooting and correcting electrical maintenance problems, including switch gear, motors, breakers and plant wiring. Should be familiar with the usage of high-tech electronic test equipment and other precision test instruments to be used in identifying problems. 2.Mechanical Maintenance- Experience in troubleshooting and correcting mechanical problems which include combustion turbines, steam turbines, heat recovery steam generators (HRSG), pumps, compressors, valves and various rotating equipment. Must be proficient in alignment, basic machining, rigging and equipment component inspection and repair. 3.Instrument & Control- Experienced in troubleshooting, calibrating, repairing, tuning, and replacing sophisticated I&C equipment and components. Must be able to maintain the plant equipment and components. Must be able to maintain the plant Distributed Control System and related equipment. Completion of extensive technical training in modern I&C work is required. 4.Operations: Experience in safe and reliable start-up, operation and continuous monitoring of boilers, electric generators, chillers, steam distribution system, steam turbines, and auxiliary equipment. Must be able to monitor continuous control process, in both a control room environment and physical plant inspection, to insure the normal operation of the plant. Must be able make necessary equipment adjustments, log significant observations, record daily meter readings and maintain daily operating logs. Working Conditions: Must be able to work extended hours, nights and weekends as plant conditions and events require. Must have the ability to wear personal protective equipment such as a hardhat, Steel Toe Safety Shoes, safety glasses, arc flash protective gear.
