PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITIONA senior, highly qualified attorney handling complex real estate and related commercial legal matters and projects on behalf of the Company.PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES 1. Under minimal supervision, handles and supervises complex real estate and related commercial legal assignments; evaluates matters which may have a major bearing on the conduct of the Company’s business as it relates to the use of its facilities and real estate interests; evaluates both legal and business risks and advises clients accordingly.Review and draft leases, easements, purchase and sale agreements for real estate and other contracts, and advise clients accordingly. Works closely with real estate clients to advise them on real estate and related matters2. Projects / duties as assigned
Minimum:- An LLB or JD from an accredited law school and be licensed to practice law in Maryland - At least 5 years of professional experience in the real estate area of law- Requires excellent legal analytical and drafting abilities and ongoing, extensive knowledge of real estate law- Must have the ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing; to read and analyze legal materials and other data; to work in stressful conditions under time deadlines; and to provide realistic risk assessments and practical advice to clientsPOSITION SCOPE - Works independently and with other attorneys on complex real estate and other commercial matters with Business Units and outside counsel- Demonstrates superior judgment in the legal and business context- Demonstrates ability and willingness to solve complex, difficult problems and be very pro-active in doing so
