JOB SUMMARY

The Project Manager I position is responsible for supporting the project managers on projects or programs by providing administrative support on activities such as meeting planning and management, project plan development and maintenance, and project SharePoint setup and management. This position will track cost and other performance metrics for projects to ensure project goals and objectives are being met. This position serves as a resource to program and project managers to assist them with implementing project management processes for their projects. The Project Manager I may also be responsible for managing small low-risk projects. This will involve directing the efforts of project teams to achieve clearly defined results within the triple constraints of time, budget, and project objectives for low-risk projects.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree related field highly desirable

  • Previous experience supporting technology projects in a matrix resource environment desirable

  • Knowledge of PMI based project management competency areas and methodologies

  • Analytical skills to effectively manage activities following established procedures and policies under tight deadlines

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Project

  • Proficiency with Microsoft SharePoint

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist project managers with the development and maintenance of project schedule and budgets as well as the ongoing cost tracking for multiple projects

  • Collect and analyze project information to determine project status; promptly communicate any issues to the project manager

  • Respond to project risks throughout the project by communicating with project members to ensure risk items are addressed and plans are updated

  • Draft accurate written communications such as status reports and meeting minutes in a timely manner

  • Track project cost estimates and schedules

  • Accurately maintain all documentation on Project SharePoint Sites

  • Insure project/program information is up-to-date and accurate in the Project Portfolio Management Tool

  • Follow Low-risk Project Management Process for assigned Low-risk projects
