4 Year Degree ( preferred in Electrical Engineering ) or equivalent job experience. Equivalent experience is minimum of 2 years; prefer 4 years as a Control Operator or a Transmission/Technical Person in the Electric Utility Business.
Ability to obtain NERC Certification which must be completed within 1 year of service.
Ability to work rotating shift work

Trainee- 4 Year Engineering Degree or 0-2years electrical utility business experience.
Operator I - 4 Year Engineering Degree or 2-4 years electrical utility business experience.
Operator II - Up to 1 year as a SOC Operator I or comparable control room operations experience depending on Certification.
Senior Operator - Up to 5 years as a SOC Operator II or comparable control room operations experience depending on degree, equivalent job experience, and NERC certification.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent computer skills
Utility experience, or System Operator Experience strongly preferred
Monitor Transmission System parameters in real-time.
Take action to maintain system within System Operating Limit and Interconnection Reliability Operating Limits limits.
Manage interchange schedule approval process in accordance with NERC reliability standards and Entergy’s business practices.
Maintain accurate documentation concerning system conditions and actions taken.
Works a 24/7 rotating shift schedule. Monitors system voltage, line flows, equipment loading, alarm conditions, etc. and initiates appropriate corrective actions when necessary.
Schedule, coordinate, prepare procedures, and direct personnel in the performance of routine and emergency switching for transmission line and substation equipment outages.
Logs essential system operating details in the appropriate log books and/or databases.
Performs actions required in CCA site security roles and responsibilities.
Analyzing and responding to transmission and substation equipment SCADA alarms.
Issuing switching orders as required for scheduled outages and for taking remedial actions following unscheduled outages
Communicating transmission system status to internal and external customers as permitted by FERC guidelines
