AREVA AFS - Information Systems Software Engineer I-II (MOX) in Aiken, South Carolina
CBI & AREVA MOX Services, LLC is a consortium of companies based in Aiken, SC and formed to advance the Department of Energy's mission to dispose of surplus weapon grade plutonium. The plutonium is disposed of by mixing it with uranium and forming a mixed oxide (MOX) fuel for use in existing nuclear reactors. After the MOX fuel is irradiated in the reactor, the plutonium can no longer be used for nuclear weapons. AREVA Federal Services provides resources to MOX Services for the design, construction, licensing and operations of the MOX Fuel Fabrication Facility (MFFF) to be built at the Savannah River Site. Resources provided are in the following disciplines: Licensing, ES&H, Integrated Safety Analysis, QA, Engineering Assurance, Process Engineering, Systems Engineering, Design and Engineering (Structural, Electrical, I &C, Seismic, Nuclear Criticality, Piping, Mechanical, HVAC), Project Safety, Procurement, Project Controls, Software Design, Training, Records Management, Operations, and Information Technology.

AREVA Federal Services LLC, a subsidiary of AREVA, is seeking aInformation Systems Software Engineer I - II.
The Information System Software Engineer (Software Engineer) will work in multiple information system domains including Manufacturing Execution System and Laboratory Information Management System. The Software Engineer will report to the Lead Information System Engineer.
After initial orientation and training the Software Engineer will work either individually or in a small team and expected to be relatively autonomous within the context of the current project. Projects will be varied and include new software development, updates to existing developments, software testing, and trouble shooting. The position responsibilities include:
Development of software that meets the project requirements including for some applications the reuse of existing applications from the MFFF reference facilities.
Interpreting / synthesizing a process control system into written requirements based on upstream engineering documents and technical specifications.
Analysis of the impact of process changes or test deficiencies and creation of change requests to facilitate the necessary changes.
Implementing approved software changes into existing software.
Review of software requirements specifications, software design documents, code reviews and testing of changes implemented by others.
Execution of work within the constraints of the approved budget and schedule, and in conformation with the required quality standards.
Ensure that functional deliveries are properly placed under software configuration management..

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.
Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field of engineering, plus a minimum of 0-2 years of relevant experience.
Minimum of 0-2 years relevant experience with manufacturing execution systems or information systems either in manufacturing, government or nuclear power business or similar sectors.
Must be able to understand and apply software development standards, regulations, and other project specific requirements applied to software development.
Team-oriented and excellent written and verbal communication skills
Skilled in the use of Microsoft OS and Office applications.
Good understanding of a structured Software Development Lifecycle.
Proficient in C, C , and SQL.
The following requirements are desired and will be used to differentiate all candidates who apply for this position.
Experience with VMS operating system, Oracle RDB, or Sample Manager LIMS™ software.
Prior experience in software development in regulated environments such as commercial nuclear power, pharmaceuticals, or the FDA.
French Language skills.
